Wow, we’re at installment 9 already?

Hard to believe and I know this has been a long series but remember what I said in part one, my goal was to explain, “Yes he did.”

Let’s take a look at Section 3.

Sec. 3. EQUAL RIGHTS. All free men, when they form a social compact, have equal rights, and no man, or set of men, is entitled to exclusive separate public emoluments, or privileges, but in consideration of public services.

So, What Is Equal Rights?

Equal Rights means, we are all the same.

The law treats us all the same and nobody can wake up one day and call you “essential” then call other people “non-essential” and start treating you differently under the law.

Well, not until Greg Abbott did this very thing.

“Essential” workers were allowed to do things like cross the Texas border.

We can’t seem to stop illegals but by golly we had state troopers stopping citizens.

I know this because I got a letter stating I was an “essential” worker.

Does the term “Papers please” ring a bell? I started using back roads after that.

One man does not have the right to tell you or I that what we do to earn a living, as long as it is legal, is allowed or not.

I am a Boring Person in my Private Life

I am a Christian conservative, veteran.
I have never tried an illegal drug.
I neither smoke nor drink to excess.
Married for 28 years with 2 children.

I will tell you right now though, if a man runs a spit shine concession at an all leather bar, that is an essential job if it pays the bills and puts food on the table.

The Texas Constitution only gives the Governor of Texas one emergency power.

That one emergency power is to call a "special session" and let the people’s representatives take over.

Other than that, he minds the store but does not set the prices or write the rules.
